Day 26: fitbit and clashing sticks

Good evening πŸ™‚

It is Wednesday, this can only mean one thing…it is wicked wacky stick Wednesday! for the uninitiated this means Mythago morris dancing practice. This means it is not difficult at all to motivated myself to be as active as possible πŸ™‚

it was a warm evening though and I chose the wrong shoes..in fact it has been something of a wrong shoes day…however that is not the story I am going to tell right now. After a few weeks on light duties dance wise, it was nice to get back to normal participation today, I did the following dances:

Triskelle, King of the fairies, maiden castle, raggle taggle gypsy (+ a walk through), Our Henry (twice) star of the county down (1.5 times) witch hunt (+ a walk through) and, fanny frail πŸ™‚

this amount of dancing without hurting or stopping and only a small amount of sliding about because i have the wrong shoes on definitely made for an excellent evening! to add to the awesomeness of the activity, the evening is spent with some really great people, I got to play my new recorder and I only got hit in the face by a (historically inaccurate) double headed battle axe once!

And….this is not the only excitement for this evening! I arrived home from work to discover that my new fitness gadget had arrived! I am now the proud owner of a fitbit flex! I charged it( a bit) and set it up before dancing and wore it whilst jigging about and this is what it says…

I did 4329 steps, covered 1.83 miles and was very active for 189 minutes. and all this since 8pm when i first put it on! I am still getting to grips with it, but i think it will prove very useful, especially from a keeping track of normal movement through out the day and I am very intrigued by the sleep function…I cant comment on the yet though as I have yet to sleep…

all in all a very good Day 26 completed πŸ™‚
