Day 253: Everything is Awesome!

It was Saturday, it was sunny, and there were six…..

Kilometers πŸ™‚ 6.1 actually πŸ˜€ the longest distance i have covered on a run for 4 years! πŸ˜€

It was not as interesting a run as Fridays when viewed on a map… I went along the downs link path, which is a disused railway not far from my house, therefore the route is a pretty straight line and was a there and back run . However, it was light, it was sunny and it was along a pretty path in the Sussex countryside which was very pleasant πŸ˜€

Awesome leggings…

loook how pretty, and blue sky and everything!

The other thing that happened during this run, was me trying out my new 2XU compression leggings…they are awesome! I don’t really get painful legs when I run in compression legs!

they still get tired, and achy in a running sort of way, but not painful in an ouch that is getting so tight it might explode sort of way!

These new leggings are considerably better than the Skins ones I have for the simple reason that they are not designed for someone with legs 8″ longer than mine! The Skins ones are lovely and compression-y Β (yes..that is the technical term!) but the knee bit with the lower compression rating ends up somewhere mid calf with a Norah Batty style wrinkled bit around my ankles! As attractive as this is…I much prefer my new ones which are built for people my height…although I suspect they would stretch.

Awesome Run πŸ™‚

Awesome new leg coverings aside, the run was pretty great too!

Look over there 6.1km, a faster overall speed again…probably Β mainly due to more running and less walking πŸ™‚ but also slightly due to faster running in the running intervals πŸ™‚

There were 3 more (3 min walk + 1 min run) intervals added on to the training this time, which was hard work. 12 mins extra moving, nearly a whole hour over all πŸ˜€ I am so pleased with it though. The last couple of intervals were tough going, but I did them! I got slower as I did, and I walked a few steps in the middle of one, but only a few steps and then carried on! I am definitely improving πŸ˜€ I also managed 2 whole zombie missions while this training was going on πŸ˜€ I am so pleased my phone can multitask!

The other thing I discovered on Saturday was that Everything is Awesome…

Or…to put it another way, I went to see the Lego Movie, which is in no way meant for kids! not at all! and apparently everything is awesome…which is highly appropriate as Saturday was awesome!

So day 253 in an awesome way complete πŸ˜€
