Year 2 Week 1: Workout round up

sheep dog

round up!

There are two problems with this weekly round up idea…

the first and most important is that i get a picture in my head of sheepdogs running around chasing my workouts and trying to organise them into a sensible order!

The second problem, is the sheepdogs are not real which means I have to use my often faulty memory to remember what i have done a whole week ago!!
(this is just a temporary logistical issue mind you…this week I will keep a note in my diary πŸ˜‰ )

So, as it was the beginning of year two and I was on something on an enthusiasm high from ending year one, I threw myself into it all with renewed zeal.

not that I think i had lost any zeal…but now I have more πŸ˜€

yes it is :-)

yes it is πŸ™‚ click on it for my review πŸ™‚

Lunchtime: 2.9km walk
PM: Insanity “fit test”
(this is not actually counted as a workout in the insanity program but believe me it is hard work and last for 30 mins!)

AM: Personal training Session (inc my deadlifts)
Lunchtime: 2.13km walk
PM: Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit

AM: Insanity CardioPower and Resistance
Lunchtime: 3.08km walk
PM: Dancing πŸ™‚

PM: Insanity Cardio Recovery

Lunchtime: 2.67km Β Walk
PM: Insanity Pure Cardio

not the best run in the world..but it was something…

AM: Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit
PM Run 5.9km

AM: Pilates
(it was the official planned Insanity rest day)

After a week with so many high intensity work outs, if felt pretty odd to stop and do the slower paced Pilates on Sunday!

In fact it felt so odd that I actually got changed ready to go for another run on Sunday evening, until I talked some sense into myself!

I am getting much better at this self awareness thing…I knew really that I needed a break from the intensity that is insanity on Sunday, and that running would not set me up well for next week!

Awesome workouts, Sam. May I suggest a system that worked really well for me last year when I did weekly workout summaries from Aug – Dec? I use to set up the week’s summary post as a strawman in my drafts folder. Each day (or every other day), i’d update it with the day’s activities and keep saving it to drafts. By the end of day 7, I had the full list of week’s activities captured and ready to publish. πŸ™‚

Huzzah πŸ˜‰ I was going to suggest a diary but you got there ahead of me πŸ˜‰

What a week! That is all so impressive.
I keep track of my workouts with glitter pens by the way. But I am like a raccoon when it comes to shiny stuff. Idk – I like the act of writing it down old school.

I’m with Nancy, draft posts are the way to go (I have 4 right now!) Ooh but glitter pens… πŸ˜€ Awesome workouts by the way, this being the most important thing! By the way, “round-up” makes me think of this every single time:

Hi! This post could not be written any better! Reading through this
post reminds me of my previous room mate! He always kept
chatting about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read.
    Many thanks for sharing!
